Rwanda has emerged as a continental leader in the transition to sustainable transport. Under the government’s ambitious vision to become a carbon-neutral economy by 2050, the city of Kigali has become a testing ground for large-scale electric two-wheeler (e-moto) adoption. By implementing a comprehensive suite of tax incentives and infrastructure mandates, the country is successfully phasing out internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycles, which were previously the primary source of urban air pollution.

In 2024, a Nairobi-based shared mobility operator partnered with us to electrify their fleet, aiming to resolve high fuel expenses and management inefficiencies. Focused on short-distance relay and instant delivery, the client required high vehicle availability and data-driven management. After rigorous testing, we launched a pilot project to validate operational returns and establish a replicable expansion model.

In 2023, we launched a partnership with an agricultural equipment distributor in Tanzania. Serving rural farming regions, our partner faced major challenges with traditional transport: high labor and fuel costs, rugged terrain (mud and steep slopes), and a lack of maintenance resources. They sought a heavy-duty, durable, and low-cost electric tricycle solution to bridge the gap between fields and urban wholesale markets through their extensive township network.
